Last Post for a couple days...

Things are busy here as we move into our house tomorrow. Here is a "tiny" a picture of the house. It's the only picture I could get from the internet. I'm trying to pack everything today so we won't have much to do tomorrow morning before we head out. I will not be able to post for a while as I'll be busy unpacking and getting the house together and taking care of Dean. I know he'll be exploring like crazy!

Happy Monday!

Well the weekend went fast. We had our last walk through at the house on Saturday and it went well so we move in on Friday. We have to pack everything we have here at the temporary housing and it will be a few car trips worth I'm sure to get it all there. Dean is all better now, his infection is gone. He's also drinking milk now instead of formula and that is a lot less expensive! Dean's calling for me so I have to go...

Happy Birthday to Dean!

Happy Birthday to Dean! Today my baby becomes a toddler. Very sad, yet exciting! He's had quite a day. He must know it's his birthday because he missed his morning nap and he never misses a nap! It's been a hectic day for me since he missed his nap so I had to try to get everything done while he was all over the place. Kevin came home for lunch so we had lunch and birthday cake and opened some of his presents. In the first picture he's reading a card from his Aunt Kristen upside down. In the second picture he's posing with the new train Aunt Kristen got him. What fun he will have with that! He finally went to sleep at 2pm. I guess he just couldn't take anymore excitement. I was very relieved that he went to sleep...hopefully it's a long nap! Dean has got some more presents to open tonight, but it seems the dogs are better at opening his gifts than he is. Here is a video of the birthday boy...sorry I did it sideways again!

Funny Video

Nothing much new to report. Dean is not fully better, but is doing better than he was last week. He's really bored with the toys that we have here in temporary housing so now I have to give him kitchen items to play with. Unfortunately the movers didn't drop off Dean's box of toys that I had packed for him so he doesn't have much to play with. He's got a bunch of birthday presents that I'm sure he'll love to play with, but they are all wrapped and will remain like that until his birthday in 2 days! In fact, right now two of the larger presents are serving as our baby gates to keep him out of certain areas. I wanted to post a funny video that I took of him the other night. Enjoy!

My poor baby

Poor Deanie is still sick. His infection was so bad yesterday I had to bring him back to the doctor where they added a second antibiotic for him. Poor little guy. He's had a really tough week but is still giving me smiles. Hopefully he'll stay happy this weekend and the infection will clear up. He'll only be a city boy for 2 more weeks and then we have the big move. I think he'll be so confused on why we are yet again in a different house. We were in our apartment in NYC, then spent 2 weeks at my parents' house, then moved to our apartment in San Francicsco, then we'll be in our new house. That is 4 different homes for him in 2 months! The dogs will be confused as well as I can't even count how many times we've moved with them in the 6 years that we have had them. I know the dogs will be much better off with a big backyard and a doggie door. Maybe they'll even go swimming. Lexie will be so tired from following Dean around a house instead of a small apartment to make sure he is ok. In fact, she is right next to him right now because he is whining. Guess that means I should go now!

Our Future Baseball Star

We had quite a day yesterday as Dean needed to go to the doctor for an infection and small fever. He is on medication now and hopefully the infection will clear up soon. His appetite is way down, he's very sleepy and in some pain, but not too cranky. He won't take the medication, so I have to sneak it in his bottles. In the meantime, I'm just trying to keep him as comfortable and happy as can be without having to hold him 24 hours/day. Here is a video of Dean learning to play catch for the first time with his Grandma when she was visiting us in May. He just needs a little more practice before we can send him to the minor league.

Just too cute!

I just wanted to post one of my favorite pictures of Dean while I have the chance. He's not typically smiling when we pull him out of the bathtub as he loves taking a bath and gets upset when we pull him out to dry him. I'm glad he was all smiles for the camera so that I was able to get a nice picture.

Golden Gate Park

We went to Golden Gate Park yesterday to enjoy the nice weather we're having. I think Dean really enjoyed the park. By the end of the afternoon he was so pooped he fell asleep in his stroller for a long time. It was very strange to be in such a large park and have absolutely no idea where we were or how to get where we wanted to go. I have always been used to central park and having a good sense of direction there. Golden Gate park was beautiful. Some of the things we saw were the rose garden, botanical gardens and the lakes. We took Dean on the swings, here is a video...sorry that it is sideways. I can't figure out how to rotate it. As you will see Dean loves it when someone is behind him on the swings scaring him.

Dean and I would like to wish one of his best friends back in NY a happy birthday. HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY ALEXANDER! We wish we could have been there to help you celebrate yesterday. I know Dean would have loved to have some of that beautiful birthday cake your mom made. It looked like it was a great day! It also looked like it was really hot, but at least it didn't rain!

TGIF!

Today is Friday and I'm sure a lot of you are looking forward to the weekend. It's actually pretty warm here today and I hope it stays that way this weekend. It's nice to dress Dean in summer clothes as it seems like he's been wearing long sleeves and pants forever. I also have a lot of summer clothes for him as I thought we'd be in NY for the hot summer. I wanted to post a video of Dean from a couple of months ago before he could crawl. The days when I didn't have to chase him around the house. It sounds like he's waking up from his nap so I better go. His naps seem to be getting shorter and shorter everyday!

Summer in San Francisco

Now that we've relocated to the west coast I thought it would be a good idea to have a blog so that I can keep everyone up to date on everything. So far our summer in San Francisco has been very cold. It's been beautiful and sunny most of the time, but our apartment seems to be in a very windy area since we are right by the water. We are living very close to Pier 39 and the Fisherman's Wharf area so we are in a touristy area, but it is very nice. We recently bought a house and if all goes well we close on June 27th. It is a 4 bedroom house with a large pool in the backyard. I think that Dean will love the pool since he loves splashing in the bathtub everyday. The house is in the suburbs, where it is a LOT warmer than the city. Unfortunately Kevin's commute will change from a 10 minute walk to about a 40 minute train ride, but I think we'll be a lot happier having more space and warmer weather. Not to mention a pool! Dean has been getting so big and is cruising all around our apartment either walking holding onto furniture or crawling very fast so I have to race to catch him before he gets into something bad. He's even been crawling into the empty cabinets here. We'll be baby proofing the house as the first thing we do when we move in. We have our work cut out for us.
